Popcorn ceilings were popular for many years, mainly because they hide imperfections in the drywall. Homes built before the late 1970s may have popcorn texture that contains asbestos. If you’re not sure how old your home is, you can look up the year it was built at bcad.org (Bexar County Appraisal District). Most other counties provide the same information.
Antonio has removed popcorn ceilings from hundreds of homes in the San Antonio area.
How we do it
We make the process quick and painless. Furniture and floors are covered before we scrape away the popcorn and underlying material. Then we make any needed repairs and float the ceiling smooth. We offer different levels of finish to fit your budget, and we can add a fresh coat of paint, or hand the room back to you if you’d rather paint it yourself.
Concerned about asbestos?
A service such as Bexar Environmental can test a sample of your popcorn ceiling.
We also do interior and exterior painting. For a free quote, call (210) 264-4784 or send us a message.
